A lift can make an organized underside photo survey easier, provided the vehicle can be lifted safely.
Before taking anything apart, start with wide views, then photograph the front, middle and rear in a repeatable order. Add close-ups of brackets, fasteners, wiring and line routes, with a wider reference photo that shows where each detail belongs. Name the files by vehicle, area and date, and back them up. Record what you see without treating a photo as a diagnosis. If corrosion or damage affects a lifting point, stop and obtain a qualified assessment before raising the car.
