Can I move a four-post lift on casters with a car on it?
Do not move a loaded lift on a caster kit as an improvised shortcut. Caster systems have specific permitted configurations and movement procedures in the exact model manual, commonly for an unloaded lift. Confirm the lift is designed for the kit and that the floor and route meet the instructions. Remove the vehicle and follow the approved procedure. If the permitted use is unclear, ask Olympic before moving the lift.

Who should inspect my automotive lift?
Use a qualified lift inspector familiar with the equipment and the applicable inspection requirements. ALI provides a directory of certified lift inspectors to help locate candidates. Confirm the inspector’s current credentials and scope, and ask what the inspection and written report cover. An installer or general mechanic is not automatically qualified for every inspection task. Keep the completed report and resolve identified issues before returning equipment to service when required.

How often do lift cables, chains and rollers need lubrication?
First identify which components the exact lift has and what its manual specifies for each. Some parts require particular lubricants, inspection methods or intervals, and not every surface should be lubricated. Incorrect products or excess lubricant can create problems. Follow the approved procedure with the lift safely secured, using qualified service when required. Keep records and ask Olympic for the correct maintenance instructions for your model.

When should car-lift cables be replaced?
Cable replacement depends on the manufacturer’s inspection criteria and the cable’s condition, not simply whether the lift still moves. Damage, wear, corrosion or other findings must be assessed by qualified personnel using the exact manual. Stop using equipment with a questionable cable. Do not conceal damage, splice a cable or substitute an unapproved part. Have the complete system checked and the correct replacement fitted before returning the lift to service.

How should I maintain lift pads and adapters?
Inspect pads and adapters before use for wear, damage, contamination and secure fit. Contact surfaces must suit the vehicle’s approved lifting points and the lift manufacturer’s instructions. Clean and replace them as specified, using approved parts. Do not keep using a damaged pad because the steel underneath seems strong. If you are unsure which adapter belongs on the lift, contact Olympic with the exact model and vehicle application.

Can I replace lift anchors with hardware-store bolts?
Use only the anchor type and installation system specified or approved for the exact lift and foundation. An ordinary bolt with similar dimensions is not proof of equivalent performance. Embedment, hole preparation, concrete condition, spacing and installation requirements matter together. Have a qualified installer assess loose or damaged anchors and the supporting concrete. Do not continue using the lift or improvise a replacement while the anchoring problem remains unresolved.

How do I order the correct replacement part for my lift?
Gather the lift model, serial number, order details and the part identification from the applicable manual. Clear photos and a description of the issue can help support identify the correct item. Confirm compatibility and any required installation work before ordering. Similar appearance does not establish that a part is suitable. Keep a lift with a safety-related fault out of service and use approved replacement parts fitted by qualified personnel.

What information helps Olympic technical support solve a problem?
Provide the lift model and serial number, order information, symptoms and when the problem occurs. Add relevant maintenance history and clear photos taken from a safe position. Describe any unusual movement, leaks, noises or warning indications without repeatedly operating a faulty lift to demonstrate it. Keep the equipment out of service when safety is in question. Accurate identification and a clear report help the team arrange the right next step.

Does free car-lift shipping include delivery to my home?
Confirm the current written shipping terms for your exact order and destination. Ask specifically about residential access, limited-access locations, unloading and any extra services. Free freight does not mean the carrier can unload a lift by hand or with a liftgate. Olympic’s shipping policy requires a capable unloading plan for direct delivery. Review the order-specific arrangements with the shipping team before shipment so the truck can be received safely.

Do I need a forklift when my lift is delivered?
Olympic’s shipping instructions require a capable forklift on site for direct delivery of automotive lifts and other applicable heavy equipment. Liftgate service and unloading by hand are not available for the lift shipment. The forklift and operator must suit the actual package and site. If direct unloading cannot be arranged, discuss freight-terminal pickup with Olympic before shipping. Confirm the receiving plan in advance to avoid an unsuccessful delivery.
