A suitable lift can provide viewing angles around the underbody that are difficult to obtain with the car on the floor.
Plan an orderly survey of accessible areas and record each concern with a location photo and a close-up. Distinguish what is visible from what remains concealed by trim, coatings or closed sections. Surface appearance alone cannot establish the remaining strength of a structural part. If a lifting point or supporting structure may be compromised, do not raise the car until qualified professionals determine a safe assessment method. The lift improves access; it does not replace corrosion expertise or a repair plan.
