The platforms, arms and crossmembers can limit access to areas directly above them. Depending on the exact design and vehicle, that may affect sections of the exhaust, transmission area or underside. Before buying, compare the lift drawing with the components you expect to service and the space your tools need. An open center can be useful, but it does not guarantee access for every repair. Never shift the vehicle away from its approved support points just to make a part easier to reach.
